Hi! I am Jackie Mason, the founder of an approach to help you tune in to your sensory system and tune-up how you function to resolve pain, recover from injury or trauma, and overcome limitations in any skill to reach your full potential.
The Sensory System
The sensory system is what really matters to the quality of how we live our lives and here is why. Research shows all information enters the brain from the senses, and the senses are activated by movement. Movement is the source of how we learn. What do you feel as you move? Close your eyes and slowly lift an arm up and down.
- Do you hold your breath as you lift?
- Is your breathing shallow or deep?
- Do your feet push into the floor as you lift?
- Does your jaw, neck, shoulders, or ribs contract as you lift?
These are interoceptive muscle sensations.
What makes this approach unique?
- It requires you to be an active participant because your brain only creates or refines new neural pathways when you are actively moving.
- It is a whole body sensory approach based on five foundational senses underlying all functionality.
- Common functionality is the vehicle used to integrate the five foundational senses into all you do to gain optimal self-regulation and self-sufficiency.
